Hegau Literary – Reading
13. June | 20:00 bis 22:00 Uhr
Experience the Hegau through literature
Siegmund Kopitzki and Waltraut Liebl will read from their book “Hegau literary – a walk through the centuries” on Thursday, 13.06.2024 at 20.00 in the Villa Bosch. In it, the two authors look at famous poets who were inspired to write by the Hegau region. “My Hegau, you are beautiful!” wrote Joseph Victor von Scheffel, for example. But he is not the only poet to sing the praises of his homeland – the former Carolingian county of Hegau is a land of poets. Even early travel tourism left its mark. Michel de Montaigne, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and Victor Hugo were among these pilgrims. Later, refugees from civilization settled here: Hermann Hesse, Ludwig Finckh and Werner Dürrson. But locals such as Jacob Picard, Hermann Kinder, Markus Werner, Bruno Epple and Alissa Walser also praised this little corner of Alemannic earth. In Koptzki and Liebl’s book, the literary Hegau is surveyed across borders for the first time in a comprehensive anthology. The book is enriched by photographs by Raimund Gering.
